Founder, Tim Dalhouse's Journey

In 2011, two years after retiring from the Marine Corps as a Master Gunnery Sergeant, I was still searching for a fulfilling civilian career. With 24 years of service and an MBA, I struggled to find a job that matched my experience and provided growth potential. Then, a friend mentioned that CGI Federal was looking for someone familiar with the Marine Corps' Total Force Retention System. I applied, got hired, and soon moved to another project where I was encouraged to earn my PMP certification.

Finding Purpose After Retirement

I landed a project management position at the FDA, where I managed drug approval projects and discovered a love for teaching PMP courses on the side. I started teaching at a community college and a university, helping many students achieve their PMP certification. This led to mentoring military friends, guiding them into project management careers.

In 2015, I co-founded a small training company focused on helping veterans transition to project management. After a partnership dispute, I moved on to Accenture Federal Services and later Regent Education, gaining valuable experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies. Despite enjoying my job, I felt a strong desire to help veterans on a larger scale.

Passing the PMP exam in December 2011, I quickly transitioned to a project management role owning a software development project, despite having no prior experience in software development. This opened doors to a rewarding career path that suited my military background. However, by mid-2012, CGI saw a downturn in contracts, prompting me to seek new opportunities.

PM-ProLearn Finally Begins

In 2017, I launched PM-ProLearn. With my wife Alicia's support, we conducted our first class at the National Reconnaissance Office, marking the beginning of our journey. The company quickly grew, and I left Regent to focus on PM-ProLearn full-time.
